Design Notes

This is not the complete PhyB sequence, it is just the N terminus (the portion needed to function while minimizing background), residues 1-621.

Source

Part cloned from cDNA from Arabidopsis thaliana.

The part is cloned into registry plasmid pSP3K3, Kan resistant.

This part was created to replace BBa_K106010, purported to be PhyB. Sequencing revealed this registry part to actually be a sirtuin (Sir3), not in fact PhyB, fulfilling the characterization requirement for the competition. We have entered this PhyB biobrick part as a replacement, fulfilling the requirement for improvement of an existing part. A note of this has been made under experience for part BBa_K106010.
